Understanding the Order of Melchizedek: Kings and Priests in the Earth
The Order of Melchizedek is one of the most powerful spiritual orders God has ever instituted. As Dr. Francis Myles teaches, this order carries a prophetic blueprint for leadership, worship, governance, and Kingdom expansion on earth.
Who Was Melchizedek?
In Genesis 14:18-20, we encounter Melchizedek — the King of Salem and priest of God Most High — who blessed Abraham after his victory in battle. Abraham, the father of faith, recognized Melchizedek's authority and gave him a tenth of everything. This encounter reveals something profound: there existed a priestly order before the Law, before the Levitical priesthood, and before organized religion as we know it.
Kings AND Priests
What makes the Order of Melchizedek unique is the fusion of two roles that were strictly separated under the Mosaic Law. Under the Levitical system, kings could not be priests and priests could not be kings. But Melchizedek was both — a king who ruled Salem and a priest who served God Most High.
Hebrews 7:1-3 tells us that Melchizedek was "without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God." This eternal priesthood points directly to Jesus Christ, who is "a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek" (Psalm 110:4).
Why This Matters for You
As believers, we are called to operate in this same dual authority. Revelation 1:6 declares that Jesus "has made us kings and priests to His God and Father." This is not merely a theological concept — it is a mandate for how we live, lead, and influence the world around us.
The Order of Melchizedek empowers you to:
- Exercise spiritual authority in prayer and intercession
- Carry Kingdom influence into the marketplace, your family, and your community
- Break generational patterns through the priestly ministry of intercession
- Walk in divine purpose as both a worshiper and a leader
The Shift from Religion to Kingdom
Dr. Francis Myles emphasizes that the Order of Melchizedek represents a shift from institutional Christianity to a dynamic understanding of believers as Kingdom agents. It is not about church attendance alone — it is about carrying God's authority into every sphere of influence.
"The Order of Melchizedek reveals kings and priests functioning together. It joins spiritual authority with cultural influence so God's righteousness, justice, truth, and Kingdom order can touch society."
This is the foundation upon which Come Grow N Grace Fellowship operates — equipping you to walk in your priestly-kingly calling.
